Heinrich Heine (1797–1856)

German poet, essayist, and journalist. Heine is considered one of the most important writers of the 19th century and shaped European literature with his lyric and prose.

Otto Hahn (1879–1968)

Chemist and Nobel laureate (1944) for the discovery of nuclear fission. President of the Max Planck Society; pioneer of modern radiochemistry.

Pope Benedict XVI (1927–2022)

Theologian and the 265th pope of the Roman Catholic Church (2005–2013). Previously Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; shaped theology and the Church for decades.
